EXHIBITION
CEZANNE AND RENOIR
From the collections of the Musée d'Orsay and the Orangerie
On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Impressionist movement, Palazzo Reale in Milan hosts the most significant works created by Paul Cézanne and Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
Between the geometric rigorism of Cézanne and the harmonious and soft line of Renoir lie the affinities that united the two authors in a relationship of friendship and mutual esteem, as can be seen in the still life, landscapes, nudes and portraits.
The exhibition is completed with the "legacy" left by the two French painters to the new generations through the comparison between two works by Cézanne and Renoir and two paintings by Pablo Picasso.
